Giants catcher Buster Posey joined The Murph & Mac Show on KNBR Wednesday morning. The third-year backstop said he is already in the Bay Area, getting prepped for Fan Fest this Saturday and Spring Training in February.
In the 15 minute interview, Posey maintained that he is "very happy and pleased with where he is" in the recovery process.
"Getting in there and playing some games is the next step."

Posey and the Giants won't have to wait too long for that important step; pitchers and catchers report to Arizona for Spring Training on Feb. 19. Head athletic trainer Dave Groeschner has a detailed plan for how much Posey will be catching throughout Spring Training. Posey knows the "game situation is going to be a little different," and the goal is to be ready to take the field uninhibited on Opening Day April 6 in Arizona.
Posey, 24, said he was able to begin blocking balls straight ahead before leaving Arizona in October, an indication that the ankle recovery was ahead of schedule.
"Throughout the whole process, we've met goals and exceeded them at times."
Posey will be one of many Giants players and coaches in attendance at Fan Fest this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at AT&T Park.

"It's a blast," Posey said of the event. "As much as it gets the fans fired up, it gets us fired up."
Baseball fans everywhere are fired up to see Posey's return to the field after his gruesome ankle injury last May.
