TAMPA - Jason Demers is improving, but he wont be in the lineup when the Sharks face the Tampa Bay Lightning on Thursday night.
The 24-year-old defenseman skated with the Sharks at the Lightnings practice facility on Wednesday, but was just taking moderate contact, he said.
It was a little fast, but I felt good and Im happy with how Im progressing. Its getting better every day, he said.
His unspecified lower body injury is not bothering him anymore, but he still needs to get back into game shape having not played since Jan. 24 in Calgary.
Demers said: I think they probably want me to practice a little more and get more into game shape. Im going to start skating with the team every day now and doing stuff extra afterwards just to get back into game shape. Ill pretty much play the waiting game after that.
