At least one well-respected hockey writer expects the San Jose Sharks to win the Stanley Cup this season.
The Philadelphia Inquirers Sam Carchidi, now in his fourth season covering the Philadelphia Flyers, picked the Sharks as his favorite to hoist the silver chalice in May.
According to Carchidi, defenseman Brent Burns is just what the Sharks needed" to get over the hump, and he expects San Jose to edge out the Los Angeles Kings in the Western Conference Final and the Penguins to win it all.
