The Sharks re-signed restricted free agent goaltenders Harri Sateri to a one-year deal and Troy Grosenick to a two-year contract, the team announced on Tuesday.
Sateri, 23, split time with Alex Stalock in goal in AHL Worcester last season, posting a 14-21-3 record, 2.89 goals-against average and .903 save percentage. It was his second full season with the Sharks’ top affiliate after the six-foot-one, 205-pound Finland native was drafted in the fourth round in 2008.
Grosenick, 23, spent the last three seasons at Union College. In 2012-13, he was 17-10-5 with a 2.12 goals-against average and .926 save percentage. The six-foot-one, 190-pound Wisconsin native was signed as a free agent by the Sharks on April 8, 2013.
The Sharks still have a hole to fill on their roster at the backup goaltender position, as they are not expected to re-sign Thomas Greiss. Stalock, a pending unrestricted free agent on July 5, was believed to have the inside track on that job but has yet to agree to a deal.
According to his agent, Stalock is still hopeful to get a deal done with the Sharks.
“We think SJ is a great fit for Stalock so hopeful to get something done by free agency. Obviously the #1 spot [is] taken by [Antti] Niemi but Al is ready for the Sharks #2 spot,” his agent said via text message to CSNCalifornia.com.

The Sharks announced they have extended qualifying offers to restricted free agent defenseman Nick Petrecki and forward Marek Viedensky.
Petrecki, a first round draft pick (28 overall) in 2007 who has yet to pan out, made his NHL debut with the Sharks in 2013, playing in one game before he was reassigned to Worcester. Viedensky, a seventh round pick in 2009, split time last season between Worcester and San Francisco (ECHL).
Forward Tommy Grant and goaltender Thomas Heemskerk were not issued qualifying offers. Defenseman Justin Sefton, a third round pick in 2011, was not issued a bonafide offer by the June 1 deadline and was eligible to re-enter the NHL Draft.
Tyler Kennedy, a restricted free agent, was issued a qualifying offer from Pittsburgh which carried over to the Sharks when San Jose acquired the forward on Sunday.
