Matt & Mindi: The 49ers are Colin Kaepernick's team
"Colin, he's been on it all offseason, and that period especially was outstanding." -- Jim Harbaugh (USA TODAY)
SANTA CLARA -- Practice summary: The 49ers' mandatory minicamp concluded Thursday evening with an awards presentation. Coach Jim Harbaugh handed out 31 certificates to players who had perfect attendance throughout the club's entire nine-week offseason program.
The veterans wrapped up the official part of the team's program with a three-day mandatory minicamp at the team's Santa Clara practice facility. The rookies have one week remaining in their seven-week program.
The most impressive sequence of the 49ers' minicamp came on the final five plays from the first-team offense, as quarterback Colin Kaepernick made impressive downfield throws to five different receivers in tight windows.
"They were really sharp," Harbaugh said. "Colin, he's been on it all offseason, and that period especially was outstanding."
Kaepernick teamed up with Marlon Moore on an impressive 25-yard cross route. Then, he hit tight end Vance McDonald against Donte Whitner's coverage. Kassim Osgood made a nice catch against safety Trenton Robinson. A.J. Jenkins sprawled out for a beautiful catch downfield, and Ricardo Lockette caught a pass on a slant.

Tight end Vernon Davis and wide receiver Anquan Boldin sat out the 11-on-11 work on the final day of camp, giving plenty of opportunities to the young players.
"Saw Vance McDonald on his birthday making some spectacular grabs," Harbaugh said. "We have to have more Vance McDonald birthdays. He was outstanding.
"Marlon Moore had a terrific day. There were others. But it was highlighted by some really good throws and catches at the end."
Earlier Thursday, the 49ers worked out veteran wide receiver Austin Collie, but did not offer him a contract. On Wednesday, receiver Brandon Carswell sustained a torn ACL in a non-contact drill. Carswell was signed earlier in the day.

"It was a real kick on the gut," Harbaugh said.
Tramaine Brock and Michael Thomas forced fumbles, and NaVorro Bowman, Nnamdi Asomugha and Darcel McBath had interceptions.
Offensive play of the day: There were many nice offensive plays from which to choose, but the play of the day has to go to Jenkins. Overall, he did not see much action come his way. His only previous reception ended with Tramaine Brock forcing a fumble. But near the end of practice, Jenkins ran a deep crossing route against a Tampa 2 defense. Linebacker Patrick Willis dropped into the deep middle. Kaepernick threw a laser. Jenkins made a dive, and secured the pass as he hit the ground hard in front of the coverage from Robinson.
Defensive play of the day: Asomugha, playing left cornerback, was matched in coverage against rookie wide receiver Quinton Patton. Asomugha used his 6-foot-2 height to go up with Patton and intercept Scott Tolzien's pass during an 11-on-11 session.
Rookie report: Vance McDonald had a big day. He made two nice catches near the end of practice, including a deep throw from Colt McCoy against tight coverage from rookie outside linebacker Corey Lemonier.
Safety Eric Reid, who was scheduled to work with the first-team defense, did not practice, due to an undisclosed physical condition.
On the sideline: RB Frank Gore, RB Kendall Hunter, RB Marcus Lattimore, WR Michael Crabtree, Kyle Williams, WR Mario Manningham, TE Vernon Davis, C Jonathan Goodwin, T Joe Staley, G Mike Iupati, OL Luke Marquardt, DL Justin Smith, DL Ray McDonald, DL Tank Carradine, DL Quinton Dial, DL Lamar Divens, LB Ahmad Brooks, LB Aldon Smith, LB Darius Fleming, CB Carlos Rogers, CB Chris Culliver, S Eric Reid.
Quote of the day: "I really liked the practice today and the entire offseason. It was a great effort by our team. I like our team. I like where we're at right now. It was a good camp."
