The 49ers have signed embattled cornerback Perrish Cox to a two-year contract, the team announced Tuesday.Cox did not play in 2011 after playing in 15 games with nine starts as a rookie with the Denver Broncos in 2010.We are pleased to add Perrish to our team, 49ers general manager Trent Baalke in a statement. As an organization, from ownership on down, we have done our due diligence and are confident that Perrish will be a positive contributor to the 49ers, as well as our community.
The Broncos cut him prior to the start of last season. Earlier this month, Cox was acquitted of sexual assault charges in Colorado, stemming from an incident in September 2010.Cox (6-foot, 198 pounds) was originally a fifth-round draft pick of the Broncos in 2010.
