49ers sign two tight ends

SANTA CLARA -- With injuries to Delanie Walker and Nate Byham, the 49ers on Monday signed two free-agent tight ends.The 49ers signed Gijon Robinson (Missouri Western) and Joe Sawyer (Southwestern Oklahoma). To make room on the 49ers' 90-man roster, the club waived guard Garrett Chisolm (South Carolina).Walker sustained a right knee injury in practice Sunday at Candlestick Park. Byham did not suit up for the 49ers' game Friday night. He has missed three practices during camp with an undisclosed injury.Robinson has previous NFL experience over the past three seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. He caught 31 passes for 240 yards and one touchdown in 39 games. He was recently released by the Jacksonville Jaguars. Robinson was issued No. 43, while Sawyer is wearing No. 83.
