Free-agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha is scheduled to visit the 49ers on Thursday, a league source told CSNBayArea.com.
Asomugha, 31, a 10-year NFL veteran, was released this week by the Philadelphia Eagles after two disappointing seasons.
The 49ers are looking to get bigger at the cornerback position. Asomugha is listed at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds. Asomugha has California ties, so there is mutual interest. He owns a home in Southern California, attended Cal and played his first eight NFL seasons with the Raiders.

After three consecutive Pro Bowl seasons with the Raiders, Asomugha signed a five-year, $60 million contract with the Eagles in 2011. The 49ers were among the teams that were interested in Asomugha's services at that time. Instead, the 49ers signed Carlos Rogers to a one-year contract.
The 49ers are also scheduled to meet with Detroit Lions free agent safety Louis Delmas, reports Pro Football Talk, after two-time Pro Bowler Dashon Goldson signed a five-year, $41.25 million contract Wednesday with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Delmas, 25, has been relegated to just 19 games the past two seasons due to knee injuries. He reportedly has an offer from the St. Louis Rams after a visit on Wednesday.
Safety Charles Woodson, released last month by the Green Bay Packers, visited the 49ers on Wednesday. He remains unsigned.
Also, the 49ers are out of the running to sign Miami Dolphins free agent Sean Smith, a 6-foot-3 cornerback, a source said. The 49ers showed interest in Smith during the three-day "legal tampering" period over the weekend.
