49ers running back Frank Gore left Sunday's game against the Giants with a knee injury.Gore has been nursing an ankle injury but a knee issue limited him to six carries for 0 yards. He only played one snap in the second half and was in for blitz pickup."I'll be all right," Gore said after the game. "I feel I could've played, but coach Tom Rathman didn't want me to play. He didn't want me out there thinking about my knee."Gore told reporters that he didn't think he will need to get an MRI on his knee.
"I wish I could've contributed more, but I'm happy with the win," Gore said.
For the season, Gore has 165 carries for 782 rushing yards and five touchdowns.
The competition between the Jets and Patriots extended into free-agent workouts this week.
New England on Wednesday reportedly tried out Dres Anderson, a wide receiver recently released by the 49ers.
New York a day later brought Anderson in for a workout, according to ESPN's Adam Caplan.
Anderson, 24, entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the 49ers in 2015.
He has yet to appear in a regular-season game.
Anderson was released from the 49ers practice squad on Tuesday, Oct. 18 to clear room for another wide receiver, DeAndre Smelter.
SANTA CLARA – Safety Jaquiski Tartt took part in full practice for the 49ers on Thursday, while wide receiver Torrey Smith and defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey were limited.
Running back Carlos Hyde is the only 49ers player who did not participate in practice. He will not play Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But it appears everyone else on the 49ers has a strong chance to be available.
Cornerback Rashard Robinson was cleared for limited non-contact football activity as he advances through the NFL’s return-to-play concussion protocol. Jimmie Ward, who missed the past three games due to a quadriceps strain, saw his second day of full work.
Tartt missed last week’s game with a quadriceps injury. After limited work on Wednesday, he was cleared for a full return on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Joshua Garnett (foot), Robinson, Dorsey (knee) and Smith (back) saw limited practice.
The Buccaneers do not expect to have running back Doug Martin available for Sunday’s game. Martin (hamstring) sustained a setback, according to coach Dirk Koetter.
