Jacobs leaves game with knee injury

HOUSTON -- Running back Brandon Jacobs was helped off the field after sustaining a left knee injury on his first carry of the 49ers' exhibition game Saturday against the Houston Texans.Texans defensive back Kareem Jackson hit Jacobs' left knee while it was planted in making a first-quarter tackle. Jacobs remained on the ground for several minutes. Coach Jim Harbaugh and trainer Jeff Ferguson assisted Jacobs off the field.Jacobs was taken from the sideline to the locker room in a cart.
