Moss arrives to 49ers camp a day early

SANTA CLARA -- Veteran wide receiver Randy Moss was among the first veterans to arrive at 49ers training camp, walking into the team's building a full day ahead of his required reporting date.Veterans are required to report to camp on Thursday with the first full-squad practice scheduled for Friday.Rookies and selected veterans have taken part in practices this week. The selected veterans include all quarterbacks and veteran players Ted Ginn, Delanie Walker and Darcel McBath, who rehabbed offseason injuries.LIST: Early practice participants
After the rookies and selected veterans practiced Wednesday, Moss entered the locker room rolling a suit case and carrying a deflated BOSU ball, which is used for balance training.Moss, 35, is attempting to make a comeback after sitting out last season in "retirement." He last played in 2010, when he combined for 28 catches for 393 yards in stints with New England, Minnesota and Tennessee.Coaches and 49ers teammates raved about Moss during the offseason program. He heads into training camp as a presumptive starting wide receiver. Moss has not made himself available to the media since March 13 when he signed a one-year, 1.75 million contract with the 49ers.
