Warriors point guard Stephen Curry and center Andrew Bogutmet with Dr. Richard Ferkel in Los Angeles on Saturday to try to figure outwhere each player is with their respective ankle injuries.Curry, who rolled his ankle in the Warriors 101-97 preseasonwin over the Blazers on Friday night in Portland, wont play the rest of thepreseason, according to general manager Bob Myers. But Curry will likely be ready for the regular-season openeron Oct. 31 against the Suns in Phoenix.Myers indicated that holding out Curry for preseason gamesagainst the Clippers on Monday and the Suns on Tuesday (the final preseasongame) was precautionary.RELATED: Curry rolls ankle, tweets message at Warriors fans
Curry told Fox Sports radio on Saturday that he would befine by the opener against Phoenix.Myers said when Ferkel examined Currys right ankle, theorthopedic surgeon saw no structural damage and didnt seem overlyconcerned.Curry missed 40 of 66 games in 2011-12 because of ankleissues.As for Bogut, Myers said he, too, is progressing and thehope is that hell be ready for opening night against Phoenix. The Warriorshave no timeline for Bogut and said his return will mostly be up tohim.Hes been cleared, Myers said of Bogut. Theres nothingstructural thats holding him back. Its more on feel and how the ankle isresponding. Hes doing some live one-on-one. Hes not telling (Bogut) he cantdo five-on-five, hes telling him to keep moving forward and keep listening tohis body.
