SANTA CLARA -- It hasn't taken long for veteran cornerback Carlos Rogers to decide he would like to find a permanent home with the 49ers."If we can get something worked out, that would be great," Rogers told CSNBayArea.com on Tuesday. "My agent (Todd France) knows that I like what's going on here. I want to be here. This has been great for me, and I would love to get something worked out for five, six years."

Rogers signed a one-year, 4.25 million contract with the 49ers in the offseason after seeing many of the other top free agents sign lucrative multi-year deals around the NFL.
Rogers said he and France have spoken about the general parameters of what would be a fair contract extension. Rogers said he does not know if there has been any movement toward a new deal, as he wishes to maintain his focus on playing football."All that is up to my agent, the general manager and ownership," Rogers said.Rogers, 30, played his first six seasons with the Washington Redskins. In six games with the 49ers, he has already recorded a single-season best three interceptions.
