SANTA CLARA -- When 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh met with the media following practice Friday, he said he was unaware of New York Giants defensive lineman Justin Tuck's comments about 49ers quarterback Alex Smith.
"He's a guy that they're trying to keep out of the position of having to win the football game," Tuck said, among other things, about Smith this week.Said Harbaugh, "I'm not aware of anything that Justin Tuck said. I don't know anything about it . . . (But) I'm sure I'll check it out."It was obvious that others inside the 49ers locker room were privy to Tuck's remarks.

"Tuck's not on our football team, so he's in no position to say anything about that," left tackle Joe Staley said.So is it something the 49ers will use as bulletin-board material?"Nah, we don't care about what other people say about our football team, except the 53 guys in this locker room," Staley said.
