SANTA CLARA -- Quarterback AlexSmith has a contract that's set to expire in March, but he figuressomething with the 49ersshould get done prior to that."I'm not in a crazy rush, at thispoint, as far as today or tomorrow," Smith said on Monday, the day afterthe 49ers' season-ending20-17 overtime loss to the New York Giants in the NFC ChampionshipGame.
"Wecan take our time a little bit. I think they have until March 13th or somethingwhen the contract's up. But I think sooner than that,maybe."

CoachJim Harbaugh has made it known that he wants Smith back next season. And Smith,clearly, wishes to have some continuity in hiscareer."At this point, I love it here," Smith said."I love what's going on with this team, coaching staff and everythingabout it. No question, I'd love to stay here."
