Tight end Vernon Davis expressed surprise at the 49ers' plan following the 49ers overtime loss to the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Davis spoke about his desire to see the team utilize all of its offensive playmakers.

Davis and Jim Harbaugh met this week, and Davis told the same things to his head coach, he said.

"I had on my mind some things I felt we could've done better," Davis said on Wednesday. "And I pointed them out to him, as far as getting everybody involved -- I mean, everybody, all the playmakers that we have."That's what we need to win games. And that's what I'm here for, to win games, help my teammates win games, go to the playoffs and get a chance to appear in the Super Bowl. That's all I think about."Harbaugh said the conversation was entirely about football."Not really going to share much," Harbaugh said. "It was a two-way conversation. It was just about football. It wasn't about frustration or however else it was characterized."Davis has just seven receptions for 65 yards in two games. He had only two passes directed his way Sunday against the Cowboys, catching them both for 18 yards.Davis attracted a lot of attention, and the Cowboys took away the pass in the deep middle with a linebacker dropping to the middle of the field and a safety providing deep help. Davis ran a seam route that opened the door for Delanie Walker to catch a 29-yard touchdown pass down the right sideline."I strongly believe Coach Harbaugh and the rest of the staff will do everything they can to put us in a great situation to make plays, whether it's blocking, whether it's catching passes or whatever," Davis said. "I put it in their hands. They got it. They know what they're doing. So I got to trust and believe in that, and continue to play ball. It's still early. That's why I didn't have to talk to him about that too much. It's still early. Everybody is still learning the offense.
