SANTA CLARA -- Receiver Braylon Edwards sat out his second day of practice in a row as he rests a knee that has given him problems since he sustained torn cartilage in a Week 2 loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Edwards is also nursing a left shoulder sprain. He said this week that his main priority is to be healthy for the start of the playoffs. The 49ers can clinch the NFC West with a victory Sunday over the St. Louis Rams.

The status of a two high-profile Rams is also up in the air. Quarterback Sam Bradford (ankle) and defensive end Chris Long (ankle) did not practice Thursday.
