Raiders coach admired 49ers' approach to free agency

For approximately the same financial commitment, the 49ers signed Carlos Rogers, Donte Whitner, Dashon Goldson, Jonathan Goodwin and David Akers.Raiders coach Dennis Allen, speaking Friday at the NFL scouting combine, commended the 49ers' approach. In particular, the signing of Rogers to a one-year, 4.25 million contract caught his attention."One of the guys I look at with what the 49ers did is Carlos Rogers," Allen said. "It's not like he was the big, big name free-agent guy. Rogers, a seven-year veteran who turns 31 in July, is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent. He had eight interceptions in his first six seasons. Last season with the 49ers, he recorded a career-high six interceptions.
