The Sharks placed left wing Frazer McLaren on waiver Friday morning for purposes of assignment to Worcester.
The news was first reported by Bob McKenzie of Canada's TSN and confirmed by the Sharks.
McLaren has appeared in seven games this year for San Jose. He did not play in the preseason after undergoing offseason hip surgery.

McLaren has amassed 89 penalty minutes in 39 games for the Sharks over three seasons.
