OAKLAND -- Yoenis Cespedes has returned to the A's starting lineup three days after straining his left hamstring, but neither center fielder Coco Crisp (right heel) nor third baseman Josh Donaldson (right hamstring) were in the lineup for Oakland's series opener against Seattle Friday night. Donaldson has missed only one game thus far this season, April 21 at Tampa Bay.

Cespedes was listed as the designated hitter and will bat clean-up.

Crisp, meanwhile, tweaked his heel Tuesday against the New York Yankees as well, did not play in Wednesday's game but entered Thursday's 18-inning affair in the 15th inning and had two base hits.

Donaldson suffered a cramp in his leg in the top of the 16th inning Thursday and was promptly removed.

"Hopefully we caught it before it got too bad," Donaldson said after the game.
