ALAMEDA -- There was no sign of Darren McFadden at the Raiders' walkthrough Wednesday morning. Shortly after noon, the team confirmed the star running back will not be active for Thursday night's game against San Diego.
The sprained right foot McFadden suffered on Oct. 23 against Kansas City has not recovered sufficiently.
Also, free safety Michael Huff was wearing a walking boot on his right foot. He has a sprained ankle. In other secondary news, cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke (hamstring) is out. Recently acquired Lito Sheppard will start in his place.
And placekicker Sebastian Janikowski, who has been slowed with a strained left hamstring, walked gingerly off the practice field before the 20-minute media window closed. As an aside, Dave Rayner is no longer available as he signed with Buffalo on Tuesday.
