Summary -- Wednesday's practice, the sixth in a row in pads, had a pall cast over it about 34 of the way through when running back Mike Goodson was hit going across the middle for a pass by linebacker Philip Wheeler and was down for about 15 minutes. His facemask was removed and he was strapped to a gurney and taken by ambulance to nearby Queen of the Valley Medical Center. CT and MRI scans were negative and Goodson had returned to the camp facility by 8 p.m. It was a hot day, the hottest yet of camp, and players were getting agitated throughout.

Offensive play of the day -- Rookie undrafted receiver Brandon Carswell extend down the right sideline on a Matt Leinart rollout pass and pulled the ball in with his right hand, right in front of cornerback Pat Lee.Defensive play of the day -- It was a bad pass, a wobbly one that should have been picked off, but rookie seventh-round draft pick Nathan Stupar showed up when he knocked Terrelle Pryor's throw out of the sky.Injury report -- Defensive tackle Richard Seymour (knee), linebacker Aaron Curry (knee), punter Shane Lechler (left knee), running back Taiwan Jones (hamstring) and receivers Eddie McGee (hamstring) and Denarius Moore (hamstring) all sat out practice. Rookie defensive end Jack Crawford did not finish practice with a foot injury, and there was, obviously Goodson and his neck.Notable -- The second training camp practice field fight of the year was a quick one, and happened about five seconds after the play ended. Interestingly enough, it was between Goodson and safety Brandon Underwood. A few punches were thrown before the two were separated.Quotable -- "I texted him already and told him that I'm praying for him, that I'm sorry and I didn't mean to do it." -- Wheeler, on his hit that caused Goodson to leave the practice field in an ambulance.Eye on reps -- The first-team offense seemed to take an inordinate amount of snaps Tuesday, especially Carson Palmer under center. He is working hard on his footwork, particularly on the rollout passes. Palmer looks more comfortable now than he did a week ago.Extra work -- With Jones already out and Goodson getting injured, Lonyae Miller picked up a majority of the snaps behind Darren McFadden.Coaching moment -- At the conclusion of practice, Allen gathered the team and spoke to the players about Goodson's injury. "This is football, O.K., and things are going to happen," Allen said he told the team. "We don't want those things to happen. It's unfortunate, but it's football."Next practice -- The Raiders return Wednesday with an 8:50 a.m. practice..
