Raiders-Jets scene-setter

OAKLAND -- Greetings from, as Raiders rookie coach Hue Jackson calls it, The O.

Just walked up from the Xfinity "La Academia" booth in Raiderville in the south parking lot. What a scene. Fans are jacked for the Raiders' home opener and yes, there were even a smattering of Jets jerseys gracing the premises.

It's a sellout for the Raiders home opener, which is also the annual Fiesta Latina celebration, and not even the overcast skies and scattered rain drops is dampening their enthusiasm.

What is disappointing, though, is the baseball dirt infield still stretching between the 20-yard lines on the football field. Grass is down in the end zones. The A's home finale was Thursday so obviously there was not enough time to get grass down on the whole field. Perhaps for next week's game against New England.

Interesting to see all of the Raiders tight end running routes in shorts and T-shirts, Kevin Boss, Brandon Myers, Richard Gordon and David Ausberry. Someone has to be inactive, right?

Speaking of which, inactive should be announced within the hour.
