OAKLAND -- Coach Dennis Allen predicted running back Lonyae Miller would be a tired guy after Monday night's exhibition opener, especially with Darren McFadden getting few carries and Mike Goodson and Taiwan Jones out with neck and hamstring injuries, respectively. So how was Miller feeling after he carried the ball a game-high 15 times for 39 yards?"I'm just thankful for the opportunity that Coach D.A. gave me and I just tried to make the most of it," Miller said. "Obviously, running the ball for these carries you're going to be tired but that's expected; it's preseason. You're out there interviewing for the job. You just have to put your best foot forward."A positive? The Raiders only had five penalties for 37 yards. And the defense wracked up two sacks, one by Tommy Kelly and the other by his protege, undrafted-free-agent rookie Dominique Hamilton. Two players did not finish the game for the Raiders -- center Stefen Wisniewski (right calf) and tight end Richard Gordon (illness). Also, offensive tackle Nick Howell and defensive end Jack Crawford were the only non-scratches to not play in the game.
