Raiders stay defensive, sign DT Walker

Sticking to the defensive side of the ball, the Raiders added their sixth defensive free agent Monday in signing former Atlanta defensive tackle Vance Walker.

The 6-foot-2, 305-pound Walker was a seventh-round draft choice of the Falcons out of Georgia Tech in 2009 and has five sacks, 79 tackles, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 58 career games, 10 starts.

Last season, he started a career-high nine games and had 32 tackles, 21 solo, with three sacks. He played in all 16 games for the Falcons.

Walker, 25, joins defensive end Jason Hunter, defensive tackle Pat Sims and linebackers Kaluka Maiava, Nick Roach and Kevin Burnett as the newest Raiders players.
