ALAMEDA -- Raiders middle linebacker Rolando McClain rolled an ankle in the season opener Monday night and sat out practice on Wednesday. But is it bad enough to keep him from playing Sunday in Miami?"We shall see," McClain told reporters Wednesday. "We'll see. It's not as bad as last year, but we'll see."McClain underwent stem-cell treatments on his ankle and knee this offseason to help with pain and seemed to respond to it.The Raiders' return trip to South Florida hearkens memories of last year's game there, when McClain was arrested in Alabama the week of the game for firing a gun near a man's head and was allowed to play by then-coach Hue Jackson. McClain was later convicted of third-degree assault, menacing, discharging a handgun in city limits and reckless endangerment, though his 180-day sentence is under appeal. The Raiders were riding high at 7-4 at the time but were thumped by the Dolphins, 34-14, and finished 8-8.Now, the Raiders will be playing in the heat and humidity of September in South Florida."I was born and raised in the south, so Im used to the heat," McClain said."Tennessee my first year was like being at home. Then we played Miami last year, and it felt like home to me. Its just hot. Its not like you died or anything. Its just a little sun. Drink some water, youll be fine."
