CSNCalifornia.comHours after being dealt a potentially devastating blow by losing free-agent tight end Zach Miller, the Raiders responded by beefing up their offensive line in signing four offensive linemen -- Samson Satele, Stephon Heyer, Justin Smiley and Seth Wand.Satele, the team's 6-foot-3, 300-pound center last season, was re-signed, presumably to compete for a guard position with either Daniel Loper on the left side or Cooper Carlisle on the right with rookie Stefen Wisniewski all-but entrenched at center. Or could Satele resume his hiking-the-ball duties and Wisniewski move to a guard spot? The Raiders also signed 6-6, 319-pound tackle Heyer, who started 16 games on the right side for Washington in 2009 and five games on the left last season. The 6-3, 300-pound Smiley, a second-round pick of the 49ers out of Alabama in 2004, was released by Jacksonville last week. He has been a left guard the past three seasons. And the 6-7, 327-pound Wand last appeared in the NFL with the Raiders in 2008. He spent the past two seasons with the UFL's Florida Tuskers.Miller left the Raiders for Seattle, former coach Tom Cable and a reported five-year, 34-million deal with 17 million guaranteed.
