Tommy Kelly: "Hue made it real clear, man, he ain't waiting on nobody. Either you get on the train, or you get left behind."

While Carson Palmer took first-team snaps Wednesday in his first practice since being acquired in a trade with Cincinnati, so too did Kyle Boller and Terrelle Pryor. And Hue Jackson said he is not yet ready to name anyone as his starter for the Kansas City game on Sunday.
A day after cutting him to make room on the roster for fellow safety Chinedum Ndukwe, the Raiders announced signing Jerome Boyd to the practice squad on Thursday.
Middle linebacker Rolando McClain, fullback Marcel Reece, special teams standout Rock Cartwright, cornerbacks Chimdi Chekwa and Chris Johnson and, of course, quarterback Jason Campbell did not practice Wednesday.
The playbook and the Chiefs defense is not Carson Palmer's first challenge. The new QB must develop a rapport with a young and impressionable receiving corps.
