Jackson explains decision to let McClain play

MIAMI -- Raiders coach Hue Jackson said he was comfortable enough with the information he had gathered in his sit-down with Rolando McClain to let him play Sunday against Miami."At the end of the day," Jackson said, "there's no question that he knows I'm disappointed with some things that occurred. And I will take care of that in-house."The reason, then, McClain was not on the field in certain situations had more to do with missed practice time this week than any punitive reason. McClain was initially excused to leave the team to purportedly attend a grandfather's funeral in his hometown of Decatur, Ala., when he was arrested Thursday on a myriad of misdemeanor charges, including firing a gun within city limits, allegedly next to a man's ear.

McClain, 22, did not start against the Dolphins. Rather, he entered on the Raiders' third defensive snap of the day and finished with a game-high eight tackles.Jackson, however, left open the door for potential future disciplinary action."If the league comes down on him," Jackson said, "then I'm going to come down on him like you've never seen."McClain, meanwhile, had no comment after the game, saying he was not doing any interviews.
