Jackson meets with McClain, no decision yet on status for Sunday

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- While Raiders coach Hue Jackson has had his face-to-face sit-down with middle linebacker Rolando McClain to discuss the player's arrest on Thursday on a myriad of misdemeanor charges in his hometown of Decatur, Ala., including firing a gun, Jackson said Saturday he had yet to decide if McClain would play Sunday against Miami.

"We'll see," Jackson exclusively told CSNCalifornia.com at the team hotel. "I feel very comfortable that we're getting down to the issues with him. This is something he has to learn from, we all have to learn from."I will make the best decision for the organization and the football team."McClain, 22, arrived in South Florida on Friday night ahead of the team charter. At the time, he politely declined an interview, saying, "I've been advised to not say anything. Then asked if he still planned on playing, McClain nodded his head."No reason why I shouldn't," he said.Early Saturday afternoon, McClain joined the Raiders for their walkthrough practice at Sun Life Stadium.Jackson said McClain was welcomed by his teammates."Trust me," Jackson said. "He's remorseful, and he should be. For the situation he put his team and his teammates in"He needs to grow and learn from this. There are so many lessons to learn. These are 'life' things that we're talking about."
