OAKLAND -- A sold-out announced crowd of 59,069 at the O.co Coliseum held its collective breath as Sebastian Janikowski lined up with four seconds left on the game clock and gave holder Shane Lechler the nod.If Janikowski were to make the kick, not only would the Raiders have a victory, the left-footed kicker would have a record 65-yard field goal."I kick(ed) it very well," Janikowski said. "I can't hit it any better. The snap and Shane's placement was perfect."Except, the snap was high and Janikowski sort of stutter-stepped on the way to the ball and, yes, Ndamukong Suh got enough of his right hand on the ball to cause it to flutter harmlessly away.

"It hit my thumb," Suh said, "I looked back and saw it twirling."Ballgame. Detroit 28, Raiders 27.It was only Janikowski's third missed field goal of the season, on 27 attempts, the second of which were blocked."That was a tough spot to even put him in," said Raiders coach Hue Jackson. "He's a guy that can do it, but that was a tough spot for even him to be in. But if anybody can do it, he can."Janikowski tied the record for longest field goal in NFL history on opening night in Denver with his 63-yarder.
