Veteran cornerback Shawntae Spencer, whom the 49ers released on Thursday and remains in the Bay Area, visited the Raiders on Friday, a source told CSNBayArea.com.
The Raiders this offseason released cornerbacks Stanford Routt and Chris Johnson. On Friday, the Raiders signed free-agent cornerback Ronald Bartell.
A second-round pick in the 2004 draft, Spencer saw action in 97 games with the 49ers with 72 starts. He started every game in the 2009 and 2010 seasons before playing just nine games with no starts last season.

New Raiders defensive coordinator Jason Tarver was on the 49ers staff for Spencers first seven seasons.Spencer reported to camp as the presumptive starter but never climbed his way back up the depth chart after being sidelined in training with a hamstring injury. The 49ers released Spencer in a move that saved 3.3 million of salary cap space.
