The Raiders are poised to cut linebacker Kamerion Wimbley, according to a national report. It is the second time this month that speculation has heightened about his future.

ESPN reported Thursday that the lack of dialogue between Wimbley's agent and the team over the past several days indicated that the move was imminent.

Thursday afternoon via email, Wimbleys agent Joe Linta confirmed to CSNCalifornia.com Raiders Insider Paul Gutierrez that he had not spoken to Raiders in several days.

The Raiders have a Tuesday 1 p.m. deadline go get under the salary cap. Last week Raiders Insider Paul Gutierrez reported that cutting Wimbley would save the team 17.5 million.

Wimbley appeared in all 16 games last year, recording 52 tackles, seven sacks and one interception. He signed a five-year, 48 million contract last August.

Cutting Wimbley before that day would save the Raiders 17.5 million going forward. Wimbley also has cap numbers of 11.85, 11.85, 10.85 and 12.25 million in 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015, respectively.

Consider: the Raiders currently have 142,514,984 devoted to the cap, which has yet to be announced, though if it is last year's figure of 120.375 million, Oakland is more than 22 million over.
