Marty Mornhinweg, who has led the Eagles to their six best offensive seasons in franchise history in his six years as offensive coordinator, will interview for the Raiders head coaching vacancy, a league source said Wednesday.

From 1997 to 2000 he was with the 49ers, as offensive coordinator under Steve Mariucci.

Mornhinweg had one two-year stint as an NFL head coach with the Lions, where he went 5-27 in 2001 and 2002. He joined the Eagles in 2003 as a senior assistant and served as assistant head coach in 2004 and 2005 before taking over as offensive coordinator in 2006, when Brad Childress became head coach of the Vikings.

In his six years as offensive coordinator, the Eagles have ranked No. 2, No. 6, No. 9, No. 11, No. 2 and No. 4 in the league in offense. This years team netted 6,386 yards -- 20th-most in NFL history and second-most ever by a non-playoff team.

Mornhinweg, who turns 50 in March, has spoken frequently about his desire to return to head coaching. He went 5-27 in Detroit in 2001 and 2002.
