What if McKenzie hired Gruden on ‘Tuck' anniversary?

I'm not suggesting this is a possibility. Not even a remote one.But how much good karma would be released in the streets of Silver and Blackdom if new Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie did the unfathomable today, on this, the 10th anniversary of the history-turning event known as the Tuck Rule Game?
Appear out of the mist with Jon Gruden at his side and announce that Chucky was indeed coming home to the Black Hole. Ten years to the day after he coached his final game for the Raiders in the New England snow. Ten years to the day the Patriots dynasty was born out of a ridiculous rule. Ten years to the day the Raiders' descent into the abyss began.

Since that day, the Patriots are 137-42, with three Super Bowl titles and a SpyGate video-taping scandal that left no real marks; the Raiders are 56-104 and searching for their eighth head coach.
McKenzie said he wants "my guy" in the coaching chair. Fair enough. And Gruden recently re-upped with ESPN for five more years to call Monday Night Football games from the broadcast booth.So it's not going to happen. Not today anyway, which would make the past 10 mostly-miserable years seem like a bad dream.But in true old school Raiders clock and dagger fashion -- sources within Raiders headquarters say the silence is deafening and no one in there has any real idea about the new G.M.'s plans -- McKenzie's "short list" has grown upwards of 11 names. Still he has reportedly only interviewed two for the gig in former Miami interim coach Todd Bowles and Denver defensive coordinator Dennis Allen.So while a grass roots movement in the form of an online petition to let McKenzie know the fans wants Gruden back has begun in Raider Nation, McKenzie's search has taken him to lower-profile coaches. Much lower profile. Which is a shame.Especially on this day. Especially since Gruden still has a parking space reserved for him at Ricky's in San Leandro.And yes, it was a fumble.
