Jim Vandermeer and the just-recalled Justin Braun skated as San Joses third pair, while Demers and White were healthy scratches.

Braun, who was one of the final cuts from training camp, arrived nearby from the teams AHL affiliate in Worcester. Vandermeer is playing in his second game since signing as a free agent this summer.

It hasnt been a good start to the season for Demers and White, who have been on the ice for some key goals against. On Friday in Boston, Demers misplayed a puck at the offensive blue line and White fell down on a backcheck, allowing New Jersey to take a late lead. The Sharks came back to win in a shootout, 4-3.
