Tyson Chandler, perhaps the top big man in this years freeagent class, has an offer in front of him from the Warriors for upwards of 60million over four years. However, it doesnt look like hes going to sign it at thispoint.Sources familiar with the situation say that Chandler, whoplayed for the NBA champion Dallas Mavericks last season, is more seriouslylooking at the New York Knicks. In order for the Knicks to acquire Chandler, they wouldlikely have to use the amnesty provision of point guard Chauncey Billups, whois set to earn 14.2 million in 2011-12.While the Warriors havent entirely given up on Chandler, one source familiar with their thinking indicated the team is resigned to goingin another direction. That direction would likely be Nene.Chandler was the Warriors No. 1 free agent target thisoffseason, and he was in the Bay Area last Sunday taking in the 49ers-Rams gameat Candlestick Park.According to one source, Chandler is very unlikely to returnto Dallas because owner Mark Cuban offered him only a one-year contract. Thatsource indicated Cuban and the Mavericks want flexibility heading into nextoffseason when the free agent class is significantly better than thisyear.
