Jackson says Stephen Curry not ‘100 percent'

OAKLANDWarriors coach Mark Jackson raised some eyebrowsduring his pregame availability with the media when he said two things thatwould seem to be at odds:Jackson said point guard Stephen Curry would play against theMemphis Grizzlies on Wednesday night, but he also said Curry was not 100percent.Why then would the Warriors risk playing Curry, who hassprained his right ankle and strained a tendon in his right foot this season,if hes not fully healthy?
I dont think anybodys 100 percent right now, Jacksonanswered. Thats just a truefact. When we say 100 percent, it has nothing to do with the initial injury. Ithink thats where people are probably making a mistake. It doesnt haveanything to do with the initial injury. But I understand the concerns.Ninety minutes before tip-off, Jackson said he wasnt surewhether or not Curry would be in the starting lineup against Memphis or comingoff the bench.Im not going to play him 40 minutes, whether he starts ordoesnt start, Jackson said. Theres an advantage of having two days off(after the Memphis game). Were going to use wisdom. When asked why he wouldnt start Curry if hes healthyenough to play, Jackson responded: Because he hasnt played other than inWashington, which was a game that was out of reach. He hasnt practiced andquite honestly, isnt 100 percent right now. So we want to be patient and smartabout bringing him back.
