‘We Believe' charity game coming together

Had a chance to communicate with the person responsible fororganizing the charity game between members of the Warriors 2007 We Believe team and the currentsquad.Nate Llorando, who is putting the event together, said hesgotten commitments from about 10 current and former Warriors players toparticipate in a charity game on Oct. 29 at the Events Center in San Jose.Expected to play are: Stephen Curry, Charlie Bell, DorellWright, Jeremy Lin, Jeremy Tyler, Jason Richardson, Kelenna Azubuike, Matt Barnesand Anthony Morrow. Morrow currently plays for New Jersey and was not a memberof the 2006-07 Warriors playoff team. Llorando said Jamal Crawford, GilbertArenas and Ike Diogunone of whom played for the 2007 playoff team or playfor the current teamcould participate as a way of filling out each roster toseven or eight players.

Llorando said that Curry is helping secure Monta Ellis andDavid Lee for the game, and that Barnes is helping work on Baron Davis, StephenJackson and Al Harrington. On Wednesday, Barnes promised on Twitterthe game would take place. Since last night, weve gotten a VERY positive responseabout this game, so we will make it happened ... Appreciate the support. There is no mention yet of the game on the website of theEvent Center Arena. However, a member of the Event Center staff confirmed thearena has been reserved for a Warriors charity game on Oct. 29. Llorando, who said he anticipates tickets going on sale inthe next couple of days, said he will donate proceeds from the game to twogroups: Kaiser Permanente Breast Cancer foundation and Barnes Athletes vs.Cancer foundation.
