Earthquakes forward Steven Lenhart suffered a sprained left MCL and is expected to miss at least four weeks, according to a report from the San Jose Mercury News.

"We'll miss him, but as always with injuries it gives guys an opportunity," coach Mark Watson was quoted. "Alan Gordon, who has been working his way back to fitness, is pretty close. Billy Schuler, Adam Jahn, all the other guys that have been working hard and waiting patiently."

Lenhard, 27, had three shots on goal and two yellow cards through the first three games of this season.

The seven-year MLS veteran owns 19 goals, seven assists, 22 yellow cards and two red cards in 64 games with the Earthquakes.
