The non-title fight between Andre Ward and Edwin Rodriguez goes down Saturday night in Ontario. (WILL HART)
Edwin Rodriguez (24-0, 16 KOs) weighed 179.8 pounds at Saturday morning's second weigh-in. After failing to make the 168-pound super middleweight limit Friday, Rodriguez needed to meet a 180-pound limit at a second weigh-in Saturday in order to salvage his fight later that night with Oakland's Andre Ward (26-0, 14 KOs).

However, Rodriguez, from Worcester, Mass., was penalized in the form of 20 percent of his career-high $1 million purse, with $100,000 going to Ward and the other $100,000 going to the California commission. Before receiving the extra money from Rodriguez, Ward was slated to make $1.9 million, according to the commission.
In addition, Ward's WBA and Ring Magazine super middleweight belts will not be on the line. The bout will be a 12-round non-title affair.
Ward vs. Rodriguez takes place at Ontario's Citizens Business Bank Arena. HBO-East will televise the fight starting at 7 p.m. PT, with HBO-West airing it on delay at 10 p.m.
