Decision on Carter forthcoming

ALAMEDA -- With just three sacks in three games, the Raiders went out and addressed a need for an outside pass rusher when they signed free agent DE Andre Carter on Wednesday. RELATED: Andre Carter statsNewsBut will he play against Denver, Dennis Allen?"We'll wait and see on Sunday. He got more reps today, so, every day that he practices, everyday that he's out here with us, he's one step closer to being on the field."
Carter was quoted on Thursday saying, "If I wasn't ready, I wouldn't be here."So, Carter says he's ready, the coach says he's practicing more, and the Raiders could use a pass rush threat on the edge -- either edge, and Carter can do that. Couple this with the fact the Raiders are headed to the thin air of Denver, a fresh body -- and one with a history of being able to get to the quarterback -- would seem like a nice addition to the Raiders defense.
Carter, a Cal alum, had 10 sacks in 14 games for the Patriots last year before he was sidelined by a quadriceps injury which ended his season.
