Ford walks, then jogs on injured foot

ALAMEDA -- Jacoby Ford jogged Tuesday for the first time since spraining his left foot in the Raiders' Aug. 17 exhibition at Arizona, giving more credence to the notion that the receiverreturner could suit up for Oakland's regular season opener on Monday."Just basically day-to-day to see how it's feeling and stuff," Ford said."It was cool to get the chance to jog a little bit. It's inside the training room. Not where I want to be yet, but it's progress. I have to try to stay positive as much as possible."The injury is on the same spot on the same foot that kept him out of six of the last seven games last year."For it to come back," Ford said, "that's kind of frustrating."Last time it took awhile."Ford said he was still waiting to hear back from the team doctor on the severity of the injury but would probably wear orthotics in his shoe "to try to take some pressure off the bottom of my foot as much as possible," he said."Just kind of up in the air at this point. I just have to see what the coaches and the training staff think."
