Raiders complete practice squad, add Chekwa

The Raiders have filled out their eight-man practice squad with the announced signings Sunday night of cornerback Chimdi Chekwa, center Colin Miller, defensive tackle Vaughn Meatoga and running back Jeremy Stewart.Chekwa, a fourth-round pick of the Raiders in 2011 who played in four games last season before being placed on IR, and Miller were both in training camp with the Raiders and waived on Friday.Maetoga, meanwhile, was with Cincinnati in training camp after signing as an UDFA from Hawaii while Stewart, who played collegiately at Stanford, initially signed with Philadelphia as an undrafted free agent before joining the New York Jets in camp and being released.The four players join linebackers Nate Stupar, the Raiders' seventh-round pick this season, and Kaelin Burnett and receivers Brandon Carswell and Travionte Session, who were signed to Oakland's practice squad on Saturday.Per the Raiders, "teams can establish a practice squad of up to eight players that are free agents who do not have an accrued season of free agency credit or who were on the 46-player active list for less than nine regular-season games during their only accrued season(s). A player cannot participate on the practice squad for more than three seasons."
