Raiders had Pryor package for Browns game

ALAMEDA -- Yes, Terrelle Pryor dressed for his first game as the Raiders' third quarterback on Sunday.No, he did not play. But Raiders offensive coordinator Greg Knapp, who is essentially running the day-to-day operations in the absence of coach Dennis Allen, said the team had a package of plays for Pryor to use against the Browns.The opportunity simply did not present itself."I've believed that from Day 1 -- how many guys can you get involved on a gameplan?" Knapp said during Monday's media conference. "I really do believe that if you can get a couple packages for a tight end or for a receiver, I think it helps motivate them to play through the season. And since that's kind of been our M.O. on offense throughout the year, hopefully it carries over now with Terrelle and we get the right situations to use the package that we have."In fact, Knapp said the Raiders plan on activating Pryor for Thursday night's home game against Denver."And using the right situations to help develop his growth," Knapp said. "It's a fine line but it's also, the teammates pull for each other. They know, Hey, I think there's a couple of plays for this guy. Let him go out there and have an opportunity to make a play."So they actually pull for each other more often than people may think from the outside."Allen, you'll recall, left the team Sunday night to be by his ailing father Grady's side in the Dallas-Forth Worth area. The elder Allen, who played in the NFL for Atlanta as a linebacker from 1968 through 1972, is in intensive care in an area hospital with an undisclosed ailment. The Raiders coach plans on returning to the Raiders by Wednesday night.
