Alabama nose tackle Josh Chapman is scheduled to visit the Raiders, as well as Tennessee and Atlanta, according to Scout.com.The purported interest by the Raiders is intriguing in that new coach Dennis Allen has talked of utilizing a myriad of defensive fronts with much talk of switching from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense and the only nose tackle currently on Oakland's roster is practice squad member Travis Ivey."Were still going through the process of acquiring talent, looking into who were going to have on the team next year," Allen said Tuesday morning at the NFL meetings in Florida. "Once we get through the draft, well have a better feel what we want to do there. The 6-feet-1, 316-pound Chapman, though, is coming off ACL surgery in January after getting injured in October and playing with the injury. He finished the season with 23 tackles, one sack and two passes defensed after getting 31 tackles, with 3 12 for losses, as a junior.Per Scout.com, Chapman has bench-pressed "nearly 600 pounds" with a "630-pound squat."
