Rookies Criner, Bergstrom can't report to camp

Less than 24 hours before the Raiders begin reporting to Napa for training camp and two of the team's draft picks remain unsigned, with no sense of an impending signing by either offensive lineman Tony Bergstrom or receiver Juron Criner.In fact, Criner's agent, Peter Schaffer, said, "contract negotiations are like being pregnant. Either you is, or you ain't. Can't be kind of pregnant."Meaning any type of "progress" in talks is meaningless until a contract is signed. And until a contract is signed, Criner, who was selected out of Arizona with a fifth-round compensatory pick at No. 168 overall, will not show up to camp until pen is put to paper."He's not allowed to practice until he has a signed contract," Schaffer said. "So he's not allowed to report until then."Criner and Bergstrom are the two lowest unsigned draftees, even if their salaries are all but slotted due to their draft positions.Documents obtained by CSNCalifornia.com show Bergstrom, who was taken 95th overall out of Utah with a compensatory pick, having a first-year allotment of 516,504 with a first-year minimum allotment of 512,504 and non-guaranteed base salaries of 390,000, 480,000, 570,000 and 660,000 on his four-year contract with a maximum signing bonus of 506,016.Criner has a first-year allotment of 426,140 with a first-year minimum allotment of 422,140 and non-guaranteed base salaries of 390,000, 480,000, 570,000 and 660,000 on his four-year contract with a maximum signing bonus of 144,560.
