The 49ers confirmed that Aldon Smith was involved in an incident early Saturday morning and incurred minor injuries.

The team issued the following statement:

"The San Francisco 49ers are aware that Aldon Smith incurred minor injuries during an incident last night. We are in contact with Aldon, and thankful that his injuries were not more serious and that he is recovering comfortably. The 49ers are also in communication with local authorities as they gather information regarding the incident, and will reserve further comment at this time."

Smith was admitted to the emergency room at Regional Medical Center in San Jose. He was treated and released at 5 a.m., a hospital source told CSNBayArea.com.

Smiths mother, reached at her home in Missouri, declined comment on her sons condition.

According to the Santa Clara Sheriff's Office, they responded to a 911 call at 2:14 a.m. from a large house party in San Jose Saturday, and transported three victims to local hospitals with non-life-threatening wounds.

Responding deputies were met by a large crowd of people at the house party and located two gunshot victims and one stabbing victim.

A sheriffs department spokesman said investigators are still gathering information and there are no suspects in the case.

Smith's first NFL offseason has been tumultuous. He was charged with a DUI in Miami Beach on Jan. 28, booked in Miami-Dade County jail and held on 1,000 bond.

Smith, the No. 7 overall pick of the 49ers last year, signed a four-year, 14.38 million contract that included a signing bonus of 8.96 million.

He recorded 14 sacks and 30 tackles in 16 games, as well as two sacks and four tackles in two postseason games.

Smith, 22, surpassed Charles Haley's mark of 13 for the most sacks by a rookie in a 49ers season, and came up a half sack shy of Jevon Kearse's all-time rookie record of 14.5 sacks.
