All but two expected at 49ers' mandatory camp

The final week of the 49ers' official offseason program kicks off Tuesday with the first day of the team's mandatory minicamp.Eighty-eight players from the 49ers' 90-man offseason roster are expected to participate in some form during the three-day camp.Running back LaMichael James is still not eligible to join the offseason program because of Oregon's late graduation date. Receiver Chris Owusu and defensive tackle Matthew Masifilo, both of Stanford, are eligible this week to participate in 49ers activities for the first time since the rookie minicamp in early-May.Safety Dashon Goldson remains unsigned as the 49ers' franchise player. Goldson is set to make 6.212 million this season if he signs the one-year tender. CSNBayArea.com has previously reported Goldson is seeking a multi-year deal worth 8 million, according to a league source, while the 49ers are not expected to exceed 7 million annually.The 49ers have until July 16 to sign Goldson to an extension. After that date, teams may sign their franchise players only to one-year deals. They are prohibited from reaching a multi-year deal until after the final regular-season game.Goldson has not given the team any indication when he plans to sign the one-year deal if the sides fail to reach a long-term agreement. Training camp is scheduled to open for the veterans 15 days before the team's Aug. 10 exhibition opener against the Minnesota Vikings.In other 49ers-related notes:--The 49ers spoke last week with the agent for linebacker Brian Banks, but the club did not schedule a visit or workout.Banks is a former USC football recruit from Los Angeles who spent five years in prison on rape and kidnapping charges only to be exonerated 10 years later after the alleged victim recanted."We have had discussions (with the 49ers)," agent Bruce Tollner told CSNBayArea.com. "He is visiting a few other teams this week."Banks (6-foot-2, 240 pounds) participated in a workout for the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday. --Only one 49ers practice during training camp will be open to the public due to the ongoing stadium construction at the team's training facility in Santa Clara.The 49ers will hold a public practice and "Fan Fest" at Candlestick Park on Sunday, Aug. 12, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A limited number of 5 tickets and will go on sale July 2. Proceeds benefit the 49ers Foundation and its mission to keep kids Safe, On Track and in School."
