SANTA CLARA -- Receiver Michael Crabtree will miss his sixth consecutive practice on Friday, as he was not on the field after the 49ers broke into position groups after stretching.

Crabtree sustained a right leg injury in the 49ers' first practice of training camp last Friday. He has not participated in a practice since. His status is questionable for the 49ers' first exhibition game, Aug. 10, against the Minnesota Vikings at Candlestick Park.Meanwhile, defensive lineman Justin Smith, who sat out Thursday's practice, was back in pads for Friday's work.
